To me those emails are spam. I don't care that some message board wants me to come back engage with their site again. I will do it as need be, and if the thread was important to me, I'll be back.
But I also realize that's just my opinion. And I wouldn't want to shut the emails off if they promote engagement and remind users to return to my forum, without pestering them. So I'm not sure what to do here, as my own opinion may conflict with what's best for my forum.
